EXIT and Friends from Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Lend Helping Hand to Louisiana
When tragedy hits, it's hard to sit back and do nothing, especially when it's close to home.
At EXIT we are so grateful that we have a moving truck and so are affiliated with so many generous people in our area. Seconds after our intentions to fill the truck were posted on Facebook, donations began pouring in.
Water, Gatorade, Bread, Shovels, Gloves, Bleach, Towels, Sheets, Toiletries, Clothing, Wipes, Diapers, Baby food, etc. packed the van, and Tom Stanton (EXIT owner/broker) and Tommy Stanton (Rental Manager and Realtor) drove it to Central, a small community just NE of Baton Rouge.
They personally delivered the donations to some of the worst hit neighborhoods in Central. When asked why he felt so burdened to take on this task, Tommy said, "How could I not? We have so many connections with Baton Rouge...so many friends and clients."
Tom added that those of us who are long time residents on the Alabama Gulf Coast have lived through several devastating natural disasters ourselves and have been on "the other side of the coin," He said, "so we know how they feel....It's the right thing to give back when they need it most."
From all of us at EXIT Realty Gulf Shores to all of you who so unselfishly participated in this effort, THANK YOU!!
Let's continue to support our LA neighbors not only with tangible assistance, but also with our prayers.
It will a #longhaul but they are #louisianastrong
In addition to the Bread and non-perishable food items, residents in Central were thankful to receive the Water, Gatorade, Cleaning Supplies, and Tools.
BEACH CLUB and TORQUOISE PLACE loading up sheets and towels they donated. These were welcomed items!!
Flood victims were grateful for the Toiletries, Heavy duty Garbage bags, Shovels, and clothing, too.
